PINK FLOYD - RIAA Gold Disc Record - Rare Live LP Award Start Price GBP 250.00 Current Price GBP 330.00 Time Left - Bid Count 6 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Saturday, November 15, 2008 End Time Tuesday, November 25, 2008 Location Hampshire See more about 'PINK FLOYD - RIAA Gold Disc Record - Rare Live LP Award' Description Pink Floyd- Official American Music Industry Award   This is a genuine RIAA American music industry Gold Award for 500,000 sales of the album ‘Delicate Sound of Thunder’.  It was presented in the late 1980s to a US radio station.  The award measures 17x21 inches (44x54cms) and is in good condition.  There is some slight tarnishing around the edge of the record but it’s not really noticeable once it’s hanging on the wall.  It features the RIAA hologram to indicate its authenticity, and a plaque that includes the following text:   PRESENTED TO KCBS TO COMMEMORATE THE SALE OF MORE THAN 500,000 COPIES OF THE COLUMBIA RECORDS ALBUM, CASSETTE AND CD “DELICATE SOUND OF THUNDER”   RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awards are the American equivalent of British BPI awards, and are only presented to artists, producers, record companies and others in the music industry that contributed to the success of a record.
