Rare Record Award' Description New Order - Official American Music Industry Award   This is a genuine RIAA American music industry Gold Award for 500,000 sales of the album ‘Substance’.  It was presented in the late 80s to New Order’s US record label, Qwest Records.  The award measures 17x21 inches (44x54cms) and is in very good condition.  It features the RIAA hologram to indicate its authenticity, and a plaque that includes the following text:   PRESENTED TO QWEST RECORDS TO COMMEMORATE THE SALE OF MORE THAN 500,000 COPIES OF THE QWEST RECORDS ALBUM, CASSETTE AND CD “SUBSTANCE”   RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) awards are the American equivalent of British BPI awards, and are only presented to artists, producers, record companies and others in the music industry that contributed to the success of a record.
