BEATLES  "Rare Metal Stamper" for the A-Side of the 45rpm "TWIST & SHOUT".  RARE IS NOT THE CORRECT TERM TO DESCRIBE THIS ITEM.  Technically, this item shouldn't even exist due to the fact that according to the court decision handed down as a result of the most famous recording industry lawsuit in the early 1960s between CAPITOL RECORDS and Vee Jay, all METAL STAMPERS used by Vee Jay with regard to specific BEATLES recordings were to have been destroyed to prevent Vee Jay or their sister labels TOLLIE and OLDIES from pressing any additional BEATLES records.   Awile back, rumors had surfaced stating that STAMPERS, MOTHERS & MASTERS were NOT DESTROYED.  Many were destoyed, but obviously not all of them.  These rumors also state that the people who purchased Vee Jay  when it was about to go bankrupt, claim they purchased all material from them.  Unfortunately for them, they obviously did not buy everything due to the fact that much of the material involved such as these items, and many 45 rpm and 33 1/3 rpm recordings along with PROMOS and TEST PRESSINGS, had already been taken by Vee Jay  employees and/or private collectors.  These unsubstantiated rumors also state that many of the items purchased were stored in a offsite locations.  Believe what you want.  Whatever was stored, was obviously NOT everything.  After 45 years, regardless of any rumors, these items do exist and in the smallest of numbers making them quite rare.  I am interested in selling this unique item to someone who would appreciate it's historical significance  with relation to the music industry in the early 1960s, and specifically the BEATLES and their early recordings.  I actually know where the B-SIDE STAMPER is (if still available) if interested.  This is truly a piece of RECORDING HISTORY!  This item is actually a surviving "A-Side" STAMPER for the Tollie 9001 and Oldies OL-152, 45rpm  "TWIST & SHOUT".  It comes with ORIGINAL "AFM ENGINEERING" Shipping Envelope stamped with the date February 25, 1964.  According to industry sources and historians, this is no doubt one of a handful of these types of items that remain in existence.  The STAMPER itself is in GREAT CONDITION.  The ORIGINAL shipping envelope from AFM ENGINEERING, is a bit tattered as you can see from the photo, however in it's own right, is a rarity and helps identify and legitimize the STAMPER itself.  A fabulous addition to any BEATLE  collector or historian as this piece is truly a piece of recording history.
